Last weekend, Navasota High School's FCCLA Chapter attended the Region IV Leadership Conference in Galveston, Texas. Miala Harpers walked away with a gold medal in Culinary Arts Knowledge. Grace Mendez placed 5th in Entrepreneurship Level 3, for which she will advance to the State Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX. We are very proud of all of our participants and winners.

January 29 the Junior High & High School Treble Choirs traveled to Waco to work with Dr. Lynne Gackle. Dr. Gackle's research for the past 40 years has been focused on the developing adolescent female voice. Dr. Gackle worked with the student's diction, vocal projection, proper vowels, breath management, phrasing, and so much more. It was truly an amazing experience to have someone of her caliber working with our students!

Child Development students practiced infant care using RealCare Infant Simulators last week at NHS, learning skills that will help them in future careers.

Congratulations to our very own Dorothea Matthews who was awarded SSC Gem of the Year by our custodial company, SSC. Ms. Matthews works hard keeping our schools and facilities clean and sanitized! Thank you Dorothea for your dedication to the students and staff of Navasota ISD!

YOUR NAVASOTA RATTLER BAND earned straight FIRST DIVISION ratings this week on their show Rise Up at UIL Contest in Waller, Texas!

Thursday, October 19, 2023, members of the Navasota High School boys basketball program visited Brule Elementary. We met the students in the cafeteria for morning announcements. The basketball players introduced themselves to the students and shared why good behavior and making good grades was important. They spoke to the students about how good grades and good behavior allow them to be successful and participate in basketball. The basketball players then went around the whole cafeteria to interact and high five all of the students. It was a great way to start the day at Brule Elementary.
